The OMI Pathology lab has been functioning since the inception of the hospital and has steadily maintained an upward growth to keep abreast of the competitive milieu.

The lab is organized into a number of sub units to perform diagnostic tests, quantitative measurements of tests and specialized tests.

The major disciplines catered for are:

1. Haemtology which includes a recently organized blood bank facility.
2. Chemical Pathology which includes routine bio-chemistry tests and specialized tests __performed on sophisticated automated EIA machines and chemicluscenic technique.
3. Microbiology.
4. Histopathology.
5. Parasitology and Fluid Examination.

All these services are provided by coordinated activities of a number of professionals e.g. Pathologists, Phlebotomists, Lab technicians, Bio Medical engineers and the administrative staff.

The lab work is greatly facilitated by completely automated analyzers which ensure performance standards including quality assurance.
