EMERGENCY UNIT 
OMI operates a fully equipped 24-hour Emergency Unit, which is manned by a team of doctors and other medical staff who know how to respond speedily and effectively to medical and surgical emergencies. The goal is to provide immediate first aid to different categories of patients. If necessary, the patient is referred to other departments for further treatment and follow-up by private consultants who are available on call.
If an emergency surgical intervention is required, the Operation Theatre can be made available as the staff are on call 24 hours a day.
CHEST PAIN UNIT
The Chest Pain Unit is fully equipped to deal with all sorts of cardiac emergencies. The consultant cardiologists are also available 24 hours to treat the patients in the Chest Pain Unit, if needed. If admission is needed, then the patients can be moved to Cardiac Observation Rooms or the Intensive Care Unit as per assessment by the cardiology team.
OMI hospital is successfully providing the facility of Primary Angioplasty which is considered the standard treatment for cardiac arrest (heart attack) all over the world. The OMI Hospital Cardiology Unit can manage these cases swiftly and expertly due to the combination of experienced interventionists and the required infrastructure.
ORTHOPAEDIC TRAUMA
OMI provides prompt and efficient Orthopaedic services all day long. Consultants are on call round the clock and perform every type of emergency procedure like closed reduction, manipulations, trauma, and surgical repair of crush injuries etc.
GYNAECOLOGICAL & OBSTETRIC EMERGENCIES
OMI Obstetric Unit provide facilities for normal and caesarean section deliveries both, for elective and emergency. The department is well equipped with latest equipment. Renowned obstetric consultants are available 24 hours a day.
X-RAY
OMI provides a 24-hour service for X-ray, both for indoor and outdoor patients. Mobile X-Ray units are also available for patients who cannot be comfortably mobilised. General X-rays are performed digitally and processed via sophisticated Computerised Radiology Systems. PACS technology is being used to transfer images to designated viewing stations, where radiologists can enhance the images for more accurate reporting. A female radiographer is also present to facilitate female patients.
ULTRASONOGRAPHY
Qualified and highly experienced sonologists are performing all types of ultrasound scans including whole abdomen, breast, small parts and Colour Doppler Studies of arteries & veins. A facility for Intrauterine Fetal Echo is available to facilitate the early diagnosis of congenital anomalies. Invasive procedures like Ultrasound Guided Biopsy, Ultrasound Guided Aspiration and Ultrasound Guided Pigtail Catheter Placement are being performed routinely at OMI Hospital.
OPG
A brand-new state of the art OPG machine has been installed recently for performing OPG and Lateral Cephalometric Radiograph. This diagnostic facility is also available round the clock.
CT SCAN
At OMI the state-of-the-art CAT Scanner provides excellent and clear images of the internal organs which lead to correct diagnosis. Special tests being performed include Contrast Imaging, Triphasic CT Scan Abdomen, CT Angiography, HRCT, Pulmonary Angiography, and 3D Skeletal Reconstruction. CT guided invasive procedures including biopsies and aspirations are performed by experienced interventional radiologists.
MRI
In the MRI Unit, a latest and most sophisticated MRI machine is available as part of the diagnostic facilities at OMI. Backed by experienced radiologists, the department has modern facilities for MRI procedures. Apart from routine scans the MRI machine at OMI can perform:
- MRA
- MRV
- MRCP
- MR Mammograms.
OMI is amongst the few hospitals in city who have acquired certification of Safe Radiography from Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
LABORATORY
OMI Laboratory service is a large, multifaceted division which functions round the clock with the latest analysers. All services provided are conducted on fully automatic, highly sophisticated machinery by technicians proficient in sensitive testing, supervised by our pathologists. This provides clinicians with results that are reliable and quick.
PHARMACY
OMI Pharmacy maintains all the pre-requisite standards on international level to run a hospital pharmacy in effective manner. The services of OMI Pharmacy are available round the clock for In-Patients as well as Out-Patients.
