Seasoned nephrologists at OMI Hospital are available round the clock for inpatient admissions as well as outpatient consultations. They diagnose and manage acute kidney injuries (AKI), chronic kidney disease (CKD), kidney failure, polycystic kidney disease, renal biopsy, haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Furthermore, comprehensive services are available for interventional nephrology procedures (for managing and unblocking fistula such as, dialysis catheter insertion, tunnelled catheter insertion (permcath)) and peritoneal dialysis catheter insertion.

OMI Hospital provides comprehensive haemodialysis services round the clock for inpatients and outpatients – alike. Separate machines are allocated for the dialysis of hepatitis-C reactive, hepatitis-B reactive and non-reactive patients. Haemodialysis is carried out by qualified and vastly experienced technicians who are also on emergency call 24/7. The patients are closely monitored during dialysis with the help of multi-parameter cardiac monitors providing continuous displays of ECG, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. Critically ill patients and especially patients on ventilator are dialysed in the ICU setting under the supervision of ICU medical officers.

A strong emphasis is placed upon patient safety by using 100% disposable products according to strict international standards. In addition, proper screening of patients along with sterilisation and disinfection of haemodialysis machines is carried out on a regular basis.
